Buenos Aires, March 11 (NA) – Deputy Esteban Paulón (Provincias Unidas) stated this Wednesday that when the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, admits that his wife traveled on the presidential plane, “he is confessing to several crimes” such as “embezzlement, abuse of authority, and violation of the public ethics law.” The legislator referred to the trip made by the Chief of Staff's wife, Bettina Julieta Angeletti, to New York aboard the presidential plane as part of the delegation that accompanied President Javier Milei to the United States. “In the first 10 seconds of the (radio) interview, when he said ‘My wife traveled on the presidential plane,’ he is confessing to serious crimes like embezzlement, abuse of authority, violation of the public ethics law, among others,” Paulón expressed in dialogue with Splendid AM 990. In an ironic tone, the socialist deputy said that “Adorni is like the genie of the lamp,” because his wife “had the desire to travel to New York and he rubbed the lamp and made it come true. That said, the genie works miracles and then we'll see who pays for them,” he asserted. He also described the radio interview granted by Adorni, in which he admitted his wife's trip on the presidential plane, as “shameful” because “he speaks of the crime he committed,” and announced that he has already “submitted a request for information in the Lower House” and a request for access to public information. “The State does not have a mechanism for, for example, dividing the fuel from the Tango 01 plane ‘Dutch style’ so that we all pay a part, that doesn't exist,” he emphasized. He also accused the Government of having “a very clear expression of hypocrisy” because “last week they tired us out saying there was a new resolution to restrict travel delegations, that no one traveled in business class except ministers, and that Adorni is the one who authorizes the exceptions.” “When he says that the Presidency invited (his wife), it means Adorni invited her, because the resolution signed by Milei and Adorni last week delegates the possibility of authorizing exceptions to the Chief of Staff,” he added. Paulón also warned that Adorni will also have to explain if he traveled to Punta del Este during the Carnival holiday on a private plane, and say who paid for “a flight that costs about $20,000,” as it could constitute the crime of “bribery.”
